Minecraft LFG is a free matchmaking site for finding people to play Minecraft with. You fill in one profile and it powers two modes: a direct queue that scores every other active player against you and shows the best fits first, and LFG listings you can browse, post, and request to join. Either way, an accepted request opens a chat and you take it from there.

It is free. Matching, requests, and chat come with every account, and there is only one kind of account.

Every pair of active players gets a score from 0 to 100, and points come from the concrete things you share: each game mode and playstyle tag you have in common counts, with fixed points for a shared language, country, voice chat setup, and platform fit. Shared game modes carry the most weight. Scores map to ore tiers: diamond for 80 and up, then gold, iron, and stone below that. Two conflicts rule a pairing out entirely, whatever the points say: Java with Bedrock, and voice-required with text-only.

They do not. Java and Bedrock cannot join the same world, so the two editions search in separate queues. Players on crossplay setups choose which queue to search when they start looking.

An LFG listing is a post from one player putting a crew together: they set the party size, edition, microphone requirement, game version, and language themselves. You request a spot with a note, the owner accepts or declines, and every accepted member shares one group conversation. Listings you cannot join because of your edition are hidden by default while you browse.

Verified marks identities that came in through Microsoft sign-in, which runs through Xbox, rather than being typed by hand. When you log in with the Microsoft account you play on, your Xbox gamertag is read from the account itself, along with your Java username where the account owns Java Edition. A name entered manually does not get the badge.

Yes. You sign in with Microsoft or Discord to create a profile, and the profile is what gets scored against everyone else in the pool. Sending requests and chatting are tied to your account as well.

Enter your Java username on your profile. The name is checked against Mojang, and the site renders your skin from the texture Mojang serves for that account. The lookup is cached for about a day, so a fresh skin change can take a little while to show up.

Block them: a blocked pair never see each other in matchmaking and cannot send each other requests or messages. You can also report a player or a message, and moderators review every report. Moderators can limit an account, which stops it from sending requests and messages, or ban it outright.

List every game mode you would actually play, pick the playstyle that genuinely fits you, and set your language so same-language players score higher with you. Game modes are the heaviest dimension in the score, so small changes there move it the most.
